This will be ending the series of ‘GMO Labeling for Dummies Infographs’ (courtesy of Label GMOs Hollywood). If you missed the first and second, please check them out. We have 5 days to win this David vs. Goliath battle. If you are one of those people (or know of anyone) who is on the fence about whether to vote yes on Prop 37 due to Monsanto’s ruthless campaign of lies please read this, read the first and second part of the series, do more research and share. Please do not believe the ads you see on TV.
The Root of All Evil Starts With a Seed From Monsanto
Monsanto is behind all of those TV ads (have you heard that they had multiple TV ads yanked from the air due to the wrong information?). Monsanto is the main manufacturer of GMO seeds. Monsanto is the manufacturer of the toxic pesticide, RoundUp. Monsanto created DDT, Agent Orange & PCBs and declared them “safe” (now we know they aren’t so safe anymore). Monsanto sues small family farmers (and puts them out of business) if their crops get cross contaminated with GM seeds. Monsanto has spent over $7 million in efforts to keep the transparency of what is in our food in the dark. Monsanto has said that the people of the UK should have the right to know what’s in their food… why are they spending so much money to keep this truth away from us? Monsanto wants to control the whole world’s supply of seeds and eventually make it so there are no more natural seeds. Monsanto claims their GMO seeds are “no different than natural” but patent the rights to the seeds.
Don’t forget these famous quotes from Monsanto and the FDA:
“Ultimately, it is the food producer who is responsible for assuring safety.”
US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), “Statement of Policy: Foods Derived from New Plant Varieties” (GMO Policy), Federal Register, Vol. 57, No. 104, 1992, p. 229
But this is what Monsato has to say about that,
“Monsanto should not have to vouchsafe the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its safety is the FDA’s job.“ [The FDA is the US government’s Food and Drug Administration, responsible for food safety]
Philip Angell, Monsanto’s director of corporate communications, “Playing God in the Garden”, New York Times Magazine, 25 October 1998
I really like the last one so I decided to end this series with a positive, strong message.
5 days to victory!
P.s., If you can donate money in any amount, $1, $5, $10, $20, $37, $50, $100 or more, please do so. With the election day being in less than a week, it is more important than ever to help keep our TV ads on the airwaves.
Until next time,
Loriel – Healthy Roots, Happy Soul
